Assistant Bakery Manager

Job Summary
Ensures baked goods are prepared and displayed in accordance with Company standards. Works closely with bakery personnel to promote department sales and customer service to support profitability goals. Trains and develops partners, schedules, plans, assigns, and directs work; reviews historical data regarding sales, ads and promotions; co-manages inventory to ensure in-stock levels; may review profit and loss, sales, shrink, and labor data; enforces quality control and food safety standards; inspects baked goods for aroma, flavor, texture, and color; supports all aspects of bakery production including preparing, packaging, labeling, catering, and occasional delivery; uses creativity to decorate baked goods and merchandise products through displays; maintains inventory accuracy and paperwork; promotes product sales through suggestive selling and appealing displays; ensures a clean, safe environment and customer-service orientation. Key knowledge and abilities include bakery operations, inventory management, leadership, communication, multi-tasking in a fast-paced setting, and ability to operate bakery equipment. Education/experience requirements include a High school Diploma or GED with one or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination, plus Food Handler and Manager Food Safety certifications. Must be at least 18 years old; driving requirements for company business require 21+ depending on policy. Flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
