Job Summary
Assistant Bakery Manager at Brookshire Grocery Company oversees bakery operations in a retail setting, working with bakery personnel to train and develop partners, schedule and direct work, review sales data and promotions, manage inventory and paperwork, and ensure quality, food-safety standards, and customer service. Responsibilities include assisting with production, packaging, labeling, catering, occasional delivery, and using displays to merchandise products. Requires strong leadership, communication, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, with ability to lead teams, ensure safety procedures, and support department profitability. Qualifications include a High school Diploma or GED with related experience (or equivalent), 18+ years old (and 21+ to drive per policy), plus Food Handler and Manager Food Safety certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED and one or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
- Minimum of 18 years of age required.
- Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
- Food Handler certification required.
- Manager Food Safety certification required.
