Job Summary
Oversee daily bakery operations including production, merchandising, inventory management, and food safety compliance while supporting the Bakery Manager. Deliver customer service by assisting with orders, resolving concerns, and promoting sales through displays and promotions. Lead and develop associates through training, coaching, and shift coverage, ensuring adherence to standards and operational efficiency. Support labor scheduling, inventory counts, and shrink reduction initiatives to meet sales and profitability goals. Assume full department leadership during the Bakery Manager's absence.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous bakery, food service, grocery, or retail experience
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, stoop, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with assistance when necessary
- Ability to work around ovens, mixers, proofers, refrigeration equipment, and other bakery machinery
- Ability to safely handle bakery equipment, products, and supplies
