Job Summary
Lead bakery department operations, including production, merchandising, inventory management, and food safety compliance. Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting with sales, custom orders, and resolving concerns while ensuring displays remain attractive and stocked. Support the Bakery Manager in staffing decisions, workflow management, and training associates on procedures and safety standards. Assume full responsibility for department operations in the absence of the Bakery Manager and maintain accurate pricing, labeling, and promotional execution. Monitor product freshness, quality, and rotation to minimize waste and achieve sales and profitability goals.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous bakery, food service, grocery, or retail experience
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with assistance when necessary
- Ability to work around ovens, mixers, refrigeration equipment, and other bakery machinery
- Ability to safely operate bakery equipment and tools
