Job Summary
Assist the operator in threading materials through guides, rollers, cutters, and sealers to run and manage the bag machine for measuring, printing, cutting, folding, and gluing. Adjust machine settings to ensure uniform shearing and sealing while maintaining high production speeds and quality. Perform daily maintenance including oiling, cleaning, and re-taping, and diagnose machine problems to keep production flowing. Mount rolls using hoists and secure shafts with hand tools. Reference work orders to requisition paper from the warehouse as needed. Communicate with teammates during shift changes and adhere to all GMP and SQF regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to multi-task as well as work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Must be able to assist the operator in each essential job function satisfactorily
- Must be able to assist operator in threading materials from parent roll through guides and rollers to cutters, gluer, printer, folding device, or electric sealer
- Must be able to assist in starting machine, observes operation, and adjusts machine to ensure uniform shearing, printing, folding, gluing, or sealing of continuous roll of material into finished bags
- Must be able to insert shaft into core of parent roll and secure with steel collars, using hand tools, and mount roll onto machine, using hoist
- Must be able to assist in Operating machine in proper manner, maintaining high production and a quality product, with minimum waste, while maintaining set goals of machine speeds
- Must be able to perform daily maintenance on machine including: oiling machine, cleaning drum area of machine, re-taping, and scraping down
