Job Summary
Athletic Trainer with primary responsibility for Baseball within Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics. The role includes delivering comprehensive athletic training and sports medicine services for assigned student athletes, coordinating onboarding and exit physicals, transporting athletes to medical appointments when needed, providing day-to-day medical care and event coverage, contributing to injury prevention and Return-to-Play programs as part of the Sports Performance Team, documenting medical records per governmental and university guidelines, assisting with policy development and updates, maintaining the athletic training facility and equipment inventory, participating in staff meetings and committees, supervising athletic training students as a preceptor, mentoring staff, and supporting cross-coverage as defined by supervision. Requires adherence to state and university background checks and driving requirements; salary range $42,100.00 - $67,300.00 with comprehensive benefits including tuition discount for employees and eligible dependents.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in athletic training or related field
- 3+ years of relevant experience (Athletic Trainer - Advanced Professional) OR 1+ years (Athletic Trainer - Intermediate Professional)
- Licensed Athletic Trainer - Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) - National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification
- CPR Certification (American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent)
- AED Certification (American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent)
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Certification (American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent)
- Background clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Fingerprint Background Check
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle as part of job duties
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in athletic training or related field (if not specified as Master’s)
- Remote and hybrid work approval not guaranteed; work primarily on site at Penn State facilities
