Job Summary
Provide comprehensive health care to the student-athlete population within the athletic department during the academic year. Oversees medical care for student-athletes, ensures pre-participation documentation, manages on-site care and rehabilitation, collaborates with physicians and coaches, monitors athletic insurance, assesses injury risk, and develops rehabilitation programs. Includes instruction on care and prevention of athletic injuries, travel with teams, and adherence to safety and employment policies. Requires Master's in Athletic Training, board certification, and state licensure, with preference for 1-2 years of collegiate athletics experience; travel up to 15% and a schedule including evenings/weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Master's in Athletic Training or related field
- National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification - Passed Boards
- Florida Dept of Health/Florida Board of Athletic Training - Licensure
- Complete accredited program and passed national board exam
- Clinicals/experience during educational program
- Preferred: 1-2 years of certified experience in collegiate athletics
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- CPR Instructor
- Advanced soft tissue mobilization skills, IV therapy, manual therapy techniques, dry needling
