Job Summary
Two full-time Assistant Athletic Director, Development positions at Director of Development 4 or 5 levels for Washington State University Athletics, based in Pullman or Seattle. Responsible for supporting fundraising goals by planning and conducting outreach to promote understanding of unit activities and research to cultivate donors and raise funds, including annual giving, major gift development, and planned gift identification. Travel throughout Washington state, the Pacific Northwest, and elsewhere is required. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications, with separate ranges for each level and location. Evening and weekend work is required. Must have a Bachelor's degree and multiple years of fundraising or related sales experience; strong proposal/writing skills; demonstrated success in face-to-face solicitations of substantial gifts; valid driver's license; ability to manage a portfolio and reach fundraising goals. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which includes three (3) years of full-time fundraising experience; demonstrated success in proposal writing and submission; ability to plan and execute a fund drive from conception to realization; demonstrated success in face-to-face solicitations of gifts of $50,000 or more OR comparable experience (progressively responsible full-time consultative sales in real estate, industrial equipment, vehicles, custom services, or bulk commodities) involving long-term client relationships, negotiating terms, program oversight and management, and defined goals; Master's degree may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience; strong interpersonal skills; ability to cultivate and steward donor relationships; understanding of proposal development, fundraising principles, project management, event planning; valid driver's license and ability to meet driving standards; evening and weekend work.
- Director of Development 5: Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, including four (4) years of full-time fundraising experience; demonstrated success in proposal writing and submission; ability to plan and execute a fund drive; demonstrated success in face-to-face solicitations of gifts of $50,000 or more OR comparable experience; Master’s degree may substitute for up to one year; strong interpersonal skills; ability to cultivate and steward donor relationships; understanding of major gift proposal writing and event planning; project management; driving requirements; evening and weekend work.
