Job Summary
Prioritize athletics as a supplemental program to support the academic mission by instructing athletes in fundamentals, strategy, and physical conditioning. Carry out the Athletic Director's aims by scheduling contests, planning practice programs, and overseeing safety conditions during student athlete presence. Maintain required attendance and insurance records while enforcing code of conduct standards and establishing academic eligibility criteria. Recommend equipment purchases and perform other assigned tasks as designated by district administrators. This part-time temporary role requires previous coaching experience, a teaching certificate, and knowledge of South Carolina High School League rules.
Required Qualifications
- Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport
- Knowledge and/or background in the assigned sport
- Must be able to pass criminal background check
- Valid drivers license
- Must have knowledge of South Carolina High School League rules and eligibility
- Must be cooperative, service-oriented, and able to work effectively with frequent interruptions
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Must have the ability to exercise good judgment, organize tasks, follow written and verbal directions, and communicate effectively
