ASSISTANT ATHLETIC COACH

Job Summary
Assist in promoting sports in the school and community; assist in planning the assigned athletic program; assist in organizing and supervising practices; assist coaches on one or more sports; teach individual fundamental skills, team play, team strategy and rules and regulations of the game; teach elements of good sportsmanship and self-control; model professionalism and exhibit patience, courtesy, and effective communication with officials, parents, and school personnel; assist in checking participant eligibility including insurance coverage and parent consent; provide students with guidance and a positive role model; conduct learning experiences with small groups of student athletes; assist in equipment and uniforms decisions for health and welfare; develop good rapport with players, parents, and staff; read, interpret, apply and explain rules and policies; pursue professional growth, demonstrate punctuality and regular attendance, maintain appropriate professional appearance, and adhere to ethics; perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED or demonstrated progress toward obtaining GED
- Current CPR/AED certification
- NFHS Coach Education Training
- Must be at least 21 years of age due to KHSAA requirements
