Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of ocular and vision-threatening conditions across species within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including hands-on clinical instruction for DVM students and supervision of residents and interns. Publish research, pursue external funding, and contribute to scholarly advancement in veterinary ophthalmology. Provide 18-24 weeks of annual clinical service supporting direct patient care, specialty consultations, emergency coverage, and professional outreach to referring veterinarians statewide. Required Qualifications
- DVM or equivalent veterinary professional degree
- Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology or European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ECVO)
- Evidence of maintaining research efforts with a track record of productivity
- 5 years of experience at the Assistant Professor rank or equivalent
- Pre-employment Criminal Background Check
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in instruction of DVM students
- Experience with mentorship of clinical residents, graduate students, and other specialists in training
- Evidence of dedication to the advancement of the field of veterinary ophthalmology
- MS or PhD and/or evidence of success in developing and or maintaining an independent research program including acquisition of funding and publications
