Job Summary
Teach online, asynchronous, and synchronous Zoom courses while conducting research, publishing, and presenting at academic conferences. Advise students in the distance education program and actively participate in departmental, university-wide, and community committees. Engage in program events such as orientation and graduation, and build community relations. Maintain high responsiveness during stipulated work hours, with occasional travel to the Touro NYC campus for meetings and departmental events. This full-time, 10-month appointment supports the school's mission to educate graduates for clinical social work practice in an urban, multicultural environment.
Required Qualifications
- Master of Social Work degree
- Doctorate in a related field of study
- Ph.D. in Social Work or a DSW degree
- Social work licensure
- 3-5 years of graduate-level, teaching experience
- HBSE, clinical courses
- Evidence of research and scholarly activities
- Instructional course design experience
- Student advising experience
- Experience with Canvas and electronic learning management systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Zoom
- Instruction will be fully remote
- Occasional travel to the Touro NYC campus for meetings and departmental events
Desired Qualifications
- a Ph.D. in Social Work or a DSW degree
- Social work licensure
- Experience teaching: HBSE, clinical courses
- Experience with clinical simulation technology and artificial intelligence
- Demonstrated capability to teach in multiple modalities including synchronous (Zoom), and asynchronous online formats
- commitment to excellence in teaching, mentoring, instructional design, and engaged scholarship
- Experience should include curriculum development, education best practices, instruction/teaching in social work, student advising, ability to engage students both in and out of the classroom
- a defined area of research and scholarship and a social work practice area of expertise
- Associate-level candidates are expected to demonstrate a sustained record of publications or contributions to an area of expertise
- Demonstrated experience with CSWE Accreditation Standards
