Job Summary
Teach undergraduate courses in exercise physiology, biomechanics, and related areas through face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats while providing high-quality laboratory instruction. Mentor students in research, capstone projects, and career preparation, and maintain an active scholarly agenda involving peer-reviewed publications and student engagement. Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and departmental committees to support accreditation standards and continuous improvement. Contribute to student recruitment, retention, and community partnerships within the College of Health Sciences. This non-tenure-track position supports the university's Catholic intellectual tradition and prepares graduates for professional practice in health and human performance fields.
Required Qualifications
- Must demonstrate an understanding the Walsh University Statement of Faith and a commitment to support the Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University in accordance with Ex Corde Ecclesiae and the Catholic intellectual tradition
- Earned doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D., or related terminal degree) in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or closely related field
- Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level
- Record of peer-reviewed scholarship
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to the mission and values of Walsh University
- Professional demeanor and the desire to collaborate with peers
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive materials (grades and research)
- Strong aptitude to use various technologies for teaching and professional purposes
- Ability to design and reimagine courses to stay contemporary
- Mobility to work in standard office setting, use standard office equipment, and engage students in a classroom for both lecture and laboratory courses
- Sufficient visual ability to read printed and digital materials
- Adequate hearing and speech abilities to receive, interpret, and communicate verbal information
Desired Qualifications
- Professional certifications (e.g., ASEP, NSCA, ISSN, ACSM)
- Experience with accreditation processes and program assessment
- A scholarly agenda that includes student mentoring through the entire research process
- Expertise in applied and laboratory-based instruction
