Job Summary
Assistant/Associate Professor in MFT (non-tenure track) at Chaminade University of Honolulu. Full-time, 11-month exempt faculty role responsible for teaching and advancing DMFT/MS-MFT programs, coordinating program assessment and accreditation activities, chairing or serving on dissertation committees, recruiting prospective students, supporting adjunct instruction, curriculum development, and ongoing program management. Core duties include teaching 21 load hours per year, overseeing the dissertation process for doctoral students, participating in program/department/university committees, contributing to curriculum development, accreditation efforts, grant writing, student advising, and leadership in program assessment. Responsibilities also encompass market-facing program promotion, enrollment planning, ensuring courses meet learning outcomes, maintaining records, and collaborating with enrollment management and admissions on recruitment strategies. The role emphasizes alignment with the university’s mission, equity and inclusivity, and Marianist identity, with expectations for occasional evenings/nights and weekends as project cycles require.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Ph.D. DMFT, or Psy.D. with concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy
- Licensure as Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- AAMFT Approved Supervisor or supervisor candidate status
- Two years experience of clinical supervision of marriage and family therapy students or marriage and family therapists with a provisional license
- College/University teaching experience
- Experience with program or university accreditation process
- Experience mentoring and advising graduate students
- AAMFT membership and AAMFT approved supervisor/supervisor candidate status
- Ph.D. DMFT, or Psy.D. with concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy
- Five years direct care experience in providing individual, couple, and family therapeutic services
