Job Summary
Conduct research and teach classes in constitutional law, state constitutional law, local government law, property and zoning law, election law, voting rights, and legislation and regulation. Engage in service to the Law School, the University, and the profession. Collaborate with campus centers such as the State Democracy Research Initiative. Pursue scholarly achievement in governance, democratic institutions, and pluralism while enriching the academic community.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. or equivalent degree
- record of outstanding scholarly achievement, or the potential for such achievement, in the study of governance, constitutional law, and democratic institutions at the state and local levels
- Previous teaching experience
- ability to conduct research and teach classes in one or more of the following areas: constitutional law, state constitutional law, local government law, property and zoning law, election law, voting rights, and legislation and regulation
- ability to engage in service to the Law School as well as to the University and the profession
- ability to collaborate with dynamic campus centers including the State Democracy Research Initiative
- demonstration of excellence or strong potential in research and teaching
- likelihood to enrich the community
- ability to engage with the Wisconsin Idea
- ability to build on existing strengths
- ability to introduce new areas of substantive or methodological focus
- advancement of commitment to pluralism and healthy civil discourse
