Job Summary
Faculty position in Urologic Oncology at UC San Diego School of Medicine, Department of Urology. The successful candidate will manage patient populations from a broad referral base and provide clinical care at multiple sites, including VA San Diego. Responsibilities include diagnosis and management of genitourinary malignancies (prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers) using open, minimally invasive, and robotic surgical approaches. Appointment level (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) will be based on the candidate's background and experience. The appointee should be aware of Health Sciences Compensation Plan limitations and outside activities; clinical moonlighting is prohibited. Preferred candidates will have an established or emerging scholarly record in urologic oncology. The role emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration and academic excellence within a large program.
Required Qualifications
- MD or MD/PhD in health-related fields
- board-certified or board-eligible in Urology
- California medical license or equivalent certification/permit per California Medical Board
- completed a Urology residency program
- completed an accredited Urologic Oncology fellowship (e.g., SUO fellowship) or equivalent advanced training in genitourinary malignancies by start of appointment
