Job Summary
Innovate and evaluate a comprehensive family medicine curriculum aligned with ACGME competencies while conducting semi-annual resident reviews and leading full-cycle recruitment. Ensure ongoing compliance with ACGME Program Requirements by leading the Clinical Competency Committee, overseeing self-study preparation, and managing all required submissions. Provide strategic leadership for the residency division by supervising faculty, developing a divisional plan, and maintaining partnerships with hospital and community organizations. Maintain 30% effort for direct patient care and 10% for supervision in continuity practice. This clinician educator and department leader role supports the sole ACGME-accredited residency at UC Health West Chester Hospital, training six residents annually across ambulatory, inpatient, and maternity care.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) in a related field
- Completion of a 3-year Family Medicine Residency Program
- Unrestricted Ohio Medical license
- DEA license
- Minimum three years of clinical experience in family medicine
- Demonstrated excellence in graduate medical education, curriculum design, teaching, resident advising, or program administration
- Prior experience as a Program Director or Associate Program Director in an ACGME-accredited program
- Familiarity with ACGME accreditation processes, self-study, and site visit preparation
- Experience with competency-based assessment, milestones reporting, and CCC processes
- Background in curriculum design, faculty development, or educational scholarship
- Experience in divisional or departmental leadership, including faculty supervision and strategic planning
- Scholarly activity or academic productivity in medical education or family medicine
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in residency recruitment and medical education
- Maintain current ABFM or AOBFM certification
- Maintain 30% effort for direct patient care
- Maintain 10% effort for supervision and precepting of residents and medical students in the continuity practice
- Provide satisfactory proof of employment eligibility via Federal I-9 employment verification process
- Provide acceptable, original forms of identification for employment verification
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of curriculum development, teaching pedagogy, and competency-based assessment
- Experience leading full-cycle resident recruitment in compliance with the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) policies
- Oversee and participate in faculty development
- Integrate evidence-based medicine and interprofessional education across the curriculum
- Lead the Clinical Competency Committee (CCC), Program Evaluation Committee (PEC), and annual program evaluation process
- Oversee self-study and ACGME site visit preparation
- Mentor residents and residency faculty
- Oversee milestones reporting and all required submissions to ACGME, ABFM, and NRMP
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the UC West Chester Residency division
- Supervise and develop core faculty, including annual performance reviews and support for ACGME scholarly activity requirements
- Develop a divisional strategic plan in collaboration with the Department Chair and oversee the divisional budget
- Represent the division in the Departmental Advisory Committee
- Maintain partnerships with UC Health West Chester Hospital leadership, academic divisions, and community organizations
