Job Summary
Operate the pools, Sopris Splash Zone, bathhouse, and related facilities safely and cost-effectively while ensuring a quality guest experience and attractive work environment. Assist the Pool Manager and Assistant Pool Manager in daily operations, representing GHSR authority as manager on duty and managing department processes. Maintain ongoing competence as a certified lifeguard and instructor, including CPR, AED, and water safety instruction, while designing and managing operational tasks. Adapt to variable hours, weekends, evenings, and holidays to ensure proper staffing levels. This role requires a profit-oriented attitude with at least one year of supervisory experience and current pool operator certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of experience in management or supervisory experience with proven ability to lead staff
- Ability to lift 70 lbs
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and read instructions
- Ability and willingness to obtain current licenses and certifications: Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatics Facility Operator (AFO)
- Red Cross Lifeguarding and Lifeguard Instructor
- CPR for the professional rescuer
- Oxygen administration
- Automated external defibrillation (AED)
- Water Safety Instructor
- Leadership and people management skills
- Broad knowledge of administrative and operational responsibilities and tasks
- Ongoing competence as lifeguard and instructor
- Diagnostic, problem solving and decision making skills
- Skill designing and the ability to manage processes for the department
- Strong computer software skills
- Ability to lift 70 lbs
