Job Summary
Based at Ravenhall site (3 days onsite) and supported by the Finance team, the Assistant Accountant role delivers accurate financial and operational reporting, maintains strong financial controls, and ensures statutory and reporting obligations are met. Responsibilities include general ledger maintenance, month-end and year-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, preparation and lodgement of BAS/IAS, depreciation schedules for fixed assets, capex governance, production and waste reporting, internal and external audit support, and day-to-day AP/AR responsibilities with stakeholder queries. The position emphasizes a proactive, collaborative approach, continuous improvement, and ability to contribute to informed business decisions within a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- CA or CPA qualification (commenced or willingness to commence)
- 2+ years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role with exposure to statutory compliance including BAS, FBT, payroll tax and audit support
- Experience with general ledger maintenance and journal posting, as well as preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
- Understanding of general accounting principles and Australian statutory obligations
- Strong MS Excel skills and experience using ERP/accounting system (SAP or Dynamics 365 advantageous)
