Job Summary
Assist Elders with personal care functions including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene care. Recognize and respond to the needs of Elders, promote their autonomy in decision-making, and maintain confidentiality. Observe and report any changes in condition to the Nurse, document care, and assist in the application of restorative procedures. Engage in routine housekeeping duties and ensure nutritional needs are met. Participate in training, quality assurance, and team meetings while contributing to a safe and healthy environment for the Elders.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved CNA program and holds a current Louisiana State CNA certification.
- Attend all required Green House Education, including CORE and Communication for Success.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple directions.
- Must have the physical strength required to lift 50 lbs. or more with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing 25 lbs. or more.
- Must be able to push, pull and/or continuously stand and walk routinely.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel and crouch.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in geriatrics and/or long-term care preferred.
