Job Summary
Arrange interpreting services for culturally Deaf, oral Deaf, Deafened, hard of hearing, and hearing consumers by taking requests and scheduling interpreters for ASL-English and LSQ-French services. Manage financial processing and reporting of the service while educating clients and the public on appropriate use of services. Utilize a computerized scheduling system and Microsoft Office 365 to handle a varied workload with competing priorities and deadlines. Work Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including rotational shifts for days and evenings. This temporary one-year contract supports CHS, the leading provider of services enabling Deaf and hard of hearing Canadians to overcome barriers to participation.
Required Qualifications
- fluent in either ASL (American Sign Language) or LSQ (Langue des signes Québécoise)
- two years' plus administrative/general accounting/customer service experience
- proficient and comfortable with scheduling assignments utilizing a computerized scheduling system
- proficient and comfortable with working with Microsoft Office 365
- can work rotational shifts (days and evenings)
- sense of urgency
- can handle pressure
- manage a varied workload with competing priorities and deadlines
- excellent interpersonal skills

- excellent communication skills
- legally eligible for employment in Canada
