Job Summary
Lead a security culture focused on crisis response, crowd management, and guest experience while preventing theft, fraud, and merchandise shortages. Implement daily workload priorities to support business goals, respond to external and internal theft incidents, and conduct apprehensions in accordance with policy. Develop and coach hourly team members on interviewing, retention, and safety procedures, while managing merchandise protection budgets and ordering devices. Anticipate staffing needs based on security trends, investigate internal incidents, and collaborate with store leaders and law enforcement to enhance in-store safety. Work variable shifts including early mornings, nights, and weekends to address guest and business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old or older
- High school degree or equivalent
- Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
- Ability to lead and hold others accountable
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); reliable and prompt attendance necessary
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)
- Ability to interpret instructions, reports and information
- Ability to climb up and down ladders
- Ability to scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds without additional assistance from others
- Ability to apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy
Desired Qualifications
- Previous retail and/or loss prevention experience preferred, but not required
