Job Summary
Portfolio Control Reconciliations lead in Goldman Sachs Asset Management Operations, focusing on ensuring accuracy of GSAM’s and risk counterpart’s books, NAV and cash balance reporting, and overseeing reconciliation across equities, fixed income, currency, and derivatives. Responsibilities include partnering with portfolio managers and operations teams to reflect accurate holdings, investigating position differences, overseeing daily processes, driving improvements to mitigate risk, and developing accounting standards and knowledge across the division. Key skills include leadership, cross-functional collaboration, strong accounting/financial services knowledge, experience with private credit and alternatives, familiarity with portfolio accounting systems (e.g., FIS InvestOne), and advanced Excel/communication capabilities. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree with strong academics and MBA, plus ability to lead teams and drive assignments to completion, with a focus on client experience, risk mitigation, and regulatory considerations.
Required Qualifications
- 8-10 years of experience in Operations and/or Financial Services Industry, preferably Asset Management
- Relevant bachelor’s degree; MBA a plus
- Ability to lead across team members and drive assignments to completion
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written; ability to influence
- Track team performance and morale; identify areas of improvement
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, NAV / Fund Accounting
- Experience with Private Credit and Alternatives product suites
- Knowledge of Bank loan products and their operational lifecycle
- Familiarity with FIS Investment Accounting Manager (InvestOne) or other portfolio accounting systems
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; ability to present to senior management
