Asset Resolution Counsel

Job Summary

Manage and monitor a non-performing real estate collateralized commercial loan portfolio, including REO, toward most effective and efficient resolution. Supervise, train, and develop Asset Resolution Department staff while conducting proactive portfolio management in accordance with established performance standards. Monitor and manage commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and foreclosure activities, functions, and deadlines. Direct and liaise with in-house and outside attorneys, collection agencies, and vendors to negotiate settlement agreements and bidding instructions. Conduct comprehensive analysis of debtors' financial position, credit status, and historical payment performance to facilitate negotiation and conflict resolution. Perform extensive quarterly reviews to confirm recovery estimates and maintain delinquency reporting with trend analysis. Monitor related expenses and propose protective advances, while participating in budget preparation for the Asset Resolution Department. Work Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Eastern Time, with a stable internet connection and professional remote setup required. Submit your CV in English to apply.

Required Qualifications

  • Law degree
  • Experience working in commercial litigation
  • Experience working in bankruptcy
  • Experience working in foreclosure
  • Experience working in real estate loss mitigation
  • Experience successfully managing non-performing loan (NPL) pools
  • Experience successfully managing REO portfolios
  • Experience supervising, developing, and mentoring case management staff
  • Litigation experience
  • Familiarity with litigation management tools
  • Experience working for a U.S.-based company
  • Must be available to work Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Eastern Time
  • Must have a stable internet connection
  • Must have a professional remote working setup

Desired Qualifications

  • Law degree from a nationally accredited U.S. law school
  • Experience working with loan servicing systems
  • Experience with case management platforms
  • Experience with asset management software used to administer commercial loan portfolios
  • Ability to interpret and analyze Promissory Notes
  • Ability to interpret and analyze Mortgages and Deeds of Trust
  • Ability to interpret and analyze Loan Agreements
  • Ability to interpret and analyze Guaranties
  • Ability to interpret and analyze UCC filings
  • Ability to interpret and analyze Assignments of Rents
  • Ability to interpret and analyze Security Agreements
  • Ability to interpret and analyze Title commitments and title policies
  • Familiarity with commercial foreclosure, bankruptcy, receivership, and litigation management platforms
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing Property valuations and appraisals
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing Environmental reports
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing Financial statements and tax returns
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing Business cash flow
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing Borrowing base reports
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing Credit reports
  • Ability to prepare and evaluate Recovery analyses
  • Ability to prepare and evaluate Settlement recommendations
  • Ability to prepare and evaluate Litigation budgets
  • Ability to prepare and evaluate Protective advance requests
  • Ability to prepare and evaluate Reserve analyses
  • Working knowledge of PACER
  • Working knowledge of state and federal court docket systems
  • Working knowledge of Secretary of State business entity databases
  • Working knowledge of UCC filing systems
  • Working knowledge of county land records
  • Working knowledge of tax assessor websites
  • Experience utilizing business intelligence and reporting tools to monitor portfolio performance
  • Experience utilizing business intelligence and reporting tools to monitor recovery trends
  • Experience utilizing business intelligence and reporting tools to monitor legal spend
  • Experience utilizing business intelligence and reporting tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Familiarity with eDiscovery
  • Familiarity with electronic document management systems
  • Familiarity with secure document sharing platforms
  • Experience working with Monday.com
  • Experience working with Salesforce
  • Experience working with SharePoint
  • Experience working with similar workflow/project management systems
  • Ability to leverage AI-assisted legal research
  • Ability to leverage document review tools
  • Ability to leverage contract analysis tools
  • Ability to leverage productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, Westlaw Precision AI, or Lexis+ AI
  • Strong understanding of data security
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements applicable to commercial lending and legal operations
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis, and reporting)
