Job Summary
Conduct internal and external investigations into inventory shrink, fraud, and theft to final disposition while maintaining accurate case files. Implement and enforce asset protection strategies, including shrink reduction programs, and oversee the efforts of distribution center and retail associates. Analyze data to identify shrink trends, coordinate with internal departments and law enforcement, and testify in judicial proceedings as needed. Maintain security systems such as alarms, CCTV, and card access, and provide training to mitigate theft and promote asset protection culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Law Enforcement, or another related field
- Four years' experience in asset protection, preferably in retail operations in a multi-store format
- Knowledge of POS applications, CCTV use and installation related applications, and knowledge of civil and criminal retail theft laws
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, to include investigation/interviewing experience
- Ability to build working relationships with internal associates and external contacts (vendors, law enforcement agencies, etc.)
- Must have strong investigative and analytical skills to analyze and interpret statistical data
- Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational, prioritization, multi-tasking and follow-through skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to provide creative input to achieve better results; thinks outside the box
- Seeks out personal and professional development opportunities through education and/or certification
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule (7 days a week availability)
- Ability to travel up to 70%
- May be required to lift and/or move 20 pounds
