Job Summary
Maintain a visible, professional in-store presence to actively prevent theft, fraud, and policy violations. Safely and lawfully detain offenders while following all company and legal procedures, then conduct detailed internal and external investigations by gathering and analyzing evidence. Partner with store leadership to identify loss trends and implement effective prevention strategies to reduce shrink. Ensure compliance with company standards, security policies, and provincial regulations while adapting quickly to new challenges in a high-volume grocery and pharmacy setting. This role requires a valid Provincial Security Guard License and experience with CCTV and surveillance tools.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Provincial Security Guard License
- Understanding of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Understanding of Trespass to Property Act
- Understanding of related legislation
- Experience with CCTV
- Experience with surveillance tools
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Previous experience in grocery, pharmacy, or other high-volume retail environments
- Open availability based on store hours, including evenings and weekends
- Available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends
- 40 hr. work week
- Candidates who are 18 years or older
- Ability to complete a criminal background check
