Asset Protection Detective, Las Vegas Meadows - Part Time

Job Summary
Conduct daily asset protection duties by using surveillance techniques and investigative tools to identify theft, apprehend shoplifters, and recover stolen merchandise. Partner with store teams and law enforcement to investigate dishonest activity, prepare documentation and statements for audits or legal proceedings, and testify in court as needed. Maintain a safe environment through de-escalation, respond to alarm calls, and train colleagues on safety protocols. This part-time role at Las Vegas Meadows requires 12-24 hours per week, including weekend shifts, and involves prolonged standing, lifting up to 30lbs, and sustained surveillance.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to observe, identify, and respond to suspicious activity in a retail environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with customers, colleagues, leaders, and law enforcement
- Ability to use sound judgment, de-escalation tools, and company procedures to support a safe environment
- Ability to handle proprietary, sensitive, and confidential information with discretion and integrity
- For jobs in New York, a current New York State Security Guard License
- Must be able to apprehend shoplifters
- Ability to sustain long periods of time enclosed in surveillance areas
- Frequently lift/move up to 30lbs
- Requires close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
- All schedules contain weekend shifts as part of the requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in retail, customer service, asset protection, security, investigations, or law enforcement
- Ability to prepare accurate reports, statements, and documentation related to incidents and investigations
- Experience using surveillance systems, reporting tools, or investigative technology
- Ability to train or coach colleagues on asset protection protocols, shortage reduction, or safety practices
