Asset Protection Detective at Macy's Alderwood. Responsibilities include using surveillance techniques to identify and apprehend shoplifters and dishonest employees; applying de-escalation tools to maintain a safe, customer-centric environment; recovering stolen merchandise; researching and providing statements and evidence to support investigations; preparing reports on theft incidents, investigations, and audits; maintaining compliance with law and company policies; building partnerships with store teams and law enforcement; testifying in court; training colleagues on security protocols; responding to alarm conditions; and facilitating first aid for customers and colleagues. Required skills include effective communication with diverse groups, teamwork and independent work capability, flexible availability (including weekends and holidays), and obtaining/maintaining required licenses and certifications; for New York postings, a current NYS Security Guard License is required.
