Job Summary
Oversee a portfolio of properties by analyzing financial and market data to identify drivers for performance improvement and value maximization. Provide strategic oversight through financial reporting, revenue strategy development, and cash flow analysis to generate distribution recommendations. Partner with operations, leadership, and external stakeholders to address occupancy issues, capital projects, and compliance with loan agreements. Conduct periodic site visits to evaluate market conditions and monitor renovation status, while compiling monthly and quarterly reports for equity partners. Assist in acquisitions, recapitalizations, and dispositions through analytical support. Manage an Asset Management Analyst with training and mentoring responsibilities. Requires five years of multifamily asset management experience and in-office work in Austin, Houston, or Chicago.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
- Five years' experience
- two years of prior multifamily asset management experience
- Experience working with institutional ownership groups
- Knowledge of real estate asset management principles
- Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Knowledge of real estate finance concepts such as cash flow modeling, ROI, IRR and cap rates
- Knowledge of capital improvement planning, renovation processes and construction budgeting
- Skilled in financial modeling and tools such as Excel and property management software (Yardi, RealPage)
- Skilled in written and verbal communication with the ability to present financial performance and recommendations to executive leadership and partners
- Ability to manage multiple assets, deadlines and stakeholder expectations
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and financial information using quantitative methods to support strategic decision making and problem solving
- Ability to identify performance trends and recommend data-driven strategies to maximize asset value
- Skilled in interpersonal communication with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders
- Must be able to read documents, computer screens and data
- Must be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computer
- Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office equipment
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to lift or carry items such as files or office supplies weighing up to 15 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- May occasionally be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- This is an in office role, requiring the associate to work in Austin HQ, Houston or Chicago offices five days per week
- This role may require overnight travel quarterly
