Job Summary
Asset Manager for Megapack energy storage fleet at xAI in Memphis, responsible for owning day-to-day operations, performance, reliability, and maintenance; coordinate Tesla Field Service, manage service tickets, and drive long-term asset optimization; oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, onsite inspections, and commissioning of new deployments; analyze performance data to identify trends and optimization opportunities; ensure safety, compliance with Tesla procedures and local regulations, and maintain thorough maintenance records; collaborate with Tesla and internal teams to minimize downtime and support AI infrastructure requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record coordinating with OEM field service teams and managing vendor relationships in a mission-critical environment
- Experience with maintenance planning, asset management, and regulatory compliance for high-voltage energy infrastructure
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to drive issues to resolution under time pressure
- Comfortable working onsite in an industrial/data center environment
- Position is subject to pre-employment and annual post-employment background checks
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and provide on-call support as needed for urgent operational issues
- Ability to lift 25+ pounds and work at heights when performing site inspections
Desired Qualifications
- Direct experience with Tesla Megapack deployment, operations, and service processes
- Background in data center power infrastructure or hyperscale energy management
- Familiarity with transformer maintenance, high-voltage electrical systems, and fire protection standards
- Data analysis skills (Python, SQL, or similar) for performance trending and optimization
- Knowledge of local Memphis-area regulations and utility requirements
- Previous experience in 24/7 operational environments with on-call responsibilities
