Asset Management Specialist - IT Operations

Job Summary
Manage routine configuration control, tracking, and lifecycle management of contractor and customer IT assets across DHS Warehouses, Data Centers, and facilities. Prepare government forms for shipping, receiving, and transferring equipment, ensuring accurate documentation in the Sunflower system or designated DHS database. Coordinate excess, disposal, and redeployment of servers, network equipment, and storage hardware, including secure data destruction and degaussing of sensitive devices. Receive shipments, scan assets into the asset management tool, and perform physical inventory checks to generate discrepancy reports. Assist in restocking consumable IT items and run asset reports from CMDB and ServiceNow. Lift up to 40 lbs for asset intake and movement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree plus 7 years of experience, or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience working on a Federal contract
- Experience with physical inventory and asset management processes
- Experience running reports within a CMDB
- Experience using Windows 11
- Experience with asset discovery tools
- Experience restocking consumable items
- Experience engaging and communicating with government stakeholders
- Experience using Sunflower or other federally approved asset management systems
- Well organized and detail oriented
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Able to lift 40 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience imaging computers
- Experience with Microsoft Enterprise Licensing
- CompTIA A+ certification
- CITAM, CHAMP, or other asset management certifications
- ITIL 4 Foundations
- Software Asset Management experience
- Experience with Intune
