Job Summary
Vice President, West Region Asset Management, leads asset management of a multifamily portfolio and pipeline. Manages deal teams and coordinates with internal teams (valuations, engineering, research) and external partners (investors, legal, brokers, property management, consultants). Cultivates partnerships to source opportunities; conducts property tours and translates findings into actionable guidance. Owns monthly P&L reviews, diagnoses outliers, and aligns stakeholders to restore plan performance. Tracks market drivers across geographies to anticipate risks/opportunities; assists acquisitions sourcing and underwriting; prepares for closings. Builds internal consensus on valuations and transactions; leads transaction negotiation and documentation of leasing, capital, and asset dispositions. Develops junior team members and expands impact within Real Estate America. Creates/reviews investment valuation models using Argus and Excel; uses market data to support decisions and evaluates partner distributions. Actively participates in industry events and stakeholder meetings; prepares investment committee presentations for dispositions or major capital recommendations. Provides oversight of property management to align with business strategy.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of asset management experience and/or 10+ years of operations experience, with a focus and passion for the multifamily sector
- Data driven and detail oriented
- Experience mentoring and training junior associates and analysts
- Exceptional relationship building and negotiation skills
- Understanding of fundamental real estate economics and finance principles
- Strong written and communication skills
- Proactive and creative mindset
- ARGUS and excel proficiency
- Experience with RealPage pricing tools and Yardi
- Experience with negotiating and managing commercial leasing (primarily ground-floor retail)
