Job Summary
Vice President, Investment Accounting Controller Team at J.P. Morgan Asset Management leads the financial reporting for a large Commercial Real Estate portfolio, overseeing real estate accounting, structuring, and internal controls for properties within a geographic area; collaborates with investment professionals on acquisitions, dispositions, and capital restructures, and engages with auditors and tax practitioners. Responsibilities include cultivating relationships with REA team members and partners, conducting financial due diligence for acquisitions, reconciling historical cost, tax, and fair value accounting insights, providing guidance on accounting treatment, reviewing monthly operating results for fund consolidation and pricing, analyzing real estate investment performance metrics (IRR, equity multiples, TWReturn), preparing materials for management and investors, and managing outsourced staff. Required qualifications include CPA, 8+ years of real estate accounting experience, a Bachelor’s in Accounting, deep knowledge of real estate investment structures, and experience managing consultants and meeting deadlines.
Required Qualifications

- Strong understanding of complex real estate investment structures, mortgage documents, development management agreements, partnership agreements, property management and leasing agreements, and purchase and sale agreements
