Job Summary
Municipal Fixed Income Research role focusing on evaluating municipal securities for investment opportunities and ongoing management. Responsibilities include providing buy/sell investment recommendations via credit discussions and written reports, performing independent credit risk analysis on issuers, conducting due diligence and site visits (some domestic travel), monitoring market themes and sector trends, and communicating recommendations to portfolio managers and clients. The position requires strong credit analysis capabilities, advanced financial analysis and modeling, proficient understanding of GAAP/GASB, and the ability to articulate complex bond structures. Collaboration with investment bankers, analysts, and other market participants is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in credit analysis
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate municipal issuer credit risk and determine relative value
- Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; team-oriented
- Proficient accounting and financial analysis with cash flow modeling and forecasting; GAAP/GASB knowledge
- Ability to read and evaluate complex bond documents and structures
