Job Summary
Vice President / Associate in Japan Product Development at JPMorgan Asset Management leading local product development initiatives, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external counsel/regulators, and supporting sales and marketing. Responsibilities include identifying market needs, managing product development efforts for new funds and product features, responding to regulators, presenting new product initiatives at local, regional, and global product committees, drafting product overview documents for Japan onshore funds, registering non-Japan domiciled funds with local regulators, collaborating with regional teams across US/EMEA/APAC to ensure consistent execution of corporate actions, adopting governance best practices, and supporting the identification of product gaps and opportunities while tracking regulatory developments and market trends; strong emphasis on stakeholder management, regulatory liaison, and cross-functional collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience within the Japan funds industry (flexibility to consider less experienced candidate for Associate title)
- Sound working knowledge across traditional mutual funds, alternatives, ETFs and regulatory environment in Japan
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex matters in a concise and meaningful way
- Experience working with geographically distributed and functionally diverse teams
- Fluency in written and spoken Japanese and English
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
