Job Summary
Asset Management – Japan Client Service Vice President role focusing on end-to-end service delivery for institutional and funds clients in Japan. Responsible for onboarding, ongoing servicing, leading client meetings and reviews, drafting and negotiating legal agreements in Japanese and English, and coordinating with Sales, Investment Specialists, and global teams to provide integrated client service. Emphasizes proactive communication, risk management, and maintaining audit readiness while supporting digital servicing initiatives and regulatory-driven projects. Requires strong relationship management, excellent communication, and ability to operate across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Asset Management, ideally in a client-facing role serving institutional and/or funds clients in Japan
- Proven track record to manage relationships with high-profile clients
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English
- Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, responsiveness, and flexibility; ability to contribute beyond core responsibilities
- Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with global teams
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality
- Sound judgment in risk management, escalation, and prioritization
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Preferred familiarity with asset management products, services and Japanese financial regulations
- Strong understanding of market practices and investment schemes
- Experience supporting digital transformation or automation initiatives (e.g., Python)
- Experience drafting and negotiating legal agreements
