Job Summary

As a Vice President/Associate in the Japan Asset Management Client Service team, you will be the guardian of the client experience for institutional and funds clients in Japan, partnering with Sales and Investment Specialists to deliver integrated client service. You will manage the full client lifecycle—from onboarding to ongoing servicing and client meetings—while drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal agreements in Japanese and English. You will collaborate with global teams and internal departments (legal, compliance, risk, operations, product) to resolve complex issues, advocate digital servicing capabilities for scalability, maintain a robust risk and control environment, and contribute to client-impacting projects. The role requires 8+ years in asset management, proven relationship-management abilities with high-profile clients, exceptional Japanese and English communication skills, proactive problem-solving, strong organizational discipline, and comfort working with global teams and cross-functional stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Asset Management
  • client-facing experience with institutional and/or funds clients in Japan
  • excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • native-level Japanese and fluent English
  • initiative, adaptability, responsiveness, and flexibility
  • highly organized with attention to detail
  • ability to work independently and with global teams
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining quality
  • risk management mindset and proactive issue resolution
  • proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • experience drafting/negotiating legal agreements (Japanese and English)
  • familiarity with asset management products, services and Japanese financial regulations
  • experience supporting digital transformation or automation initiatives (e.g., Python)
