Job Summary

As an ICHSC diagnostics assessor, conduct inspections of community diagnostic centres to assess compliance with Accreditation Canada standards using policies, clinical guidelines, evidence-informed practices, and personal clinical expertise. Review documentation (policies, procedures, patient charts) and interview centre staff; physicians may review images remotely to ensure clinical accuracy and adherence to guidelines. Produce comprehensive written reports using standardized templates and collaborate with staff and expert advisors to clarify requirements and interpret findings. Identify gaps in compliance and provide recommendations to enhance patient safety and service quality. This role focuses on ophthalmic ultrasound, radiology (physicians), sleep medicine (physicians), and pulmonary function testing (physicians and technologists/therapists); requires current licensure/certification and experience in at least one of the listed specialties. The position is based in Ontario, Canada, with minimum two inspections per year; includes initial orientation, ongoing training, and travel reimbursement. Applicants should be Canadian health care professionals (Ontario residents preferred) with English fluency and the ability to review services in outpatient and diagnostic settings. Preference given to those with leadership experience in diagnostic imaging, familiarity with accreditation processes, knowledge of Accreditation Canada standards, and experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams; applications accepted on an ongoing basis with response within 4–6 weeks.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Professional License or Certification: Physician or Technologist in good standing with the relevant provincial regulatory college; for unregulated professions, certification through an appropriate certification body is required.
  • Experience in one or more of the listed diagnostic modalities (Radiology for physicians; Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Sleep Medicine, Ophthalmology, Respirology, Pulmonary Function Testing)
  • Active delivery of licensed services within an acute care hospital or community diagnostic setting
  • Strong communication in English; ability to review centre policies, protocols, and patient results; analyze information; and draw evidence-based conclusions
  • Proficiency with computers, tablets and web-based software for report preparation and data collection
  • Willingness to engage in initial orientation and ongoing learning opportunities
