Job Summary

Conduct on-site or virtual evaluations of state early childhood programs using the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scales and prepare evaluation reports within required timeframes. Ensure accurate documentation for the Illinois State Board of Education Compliance Checklist and participate in inter-rater reliability training for all evaluation tools. Maintain required reliability levels by writing related reports and attending staff, assessment team, and supervision meetings. Provide support for other McCormick Center duties as assigned. This remote position within Illinois requires state-wide travel and occasional on-site presence at Chicago, Wheeling, or Lisle campuses for special events.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Teaching license
  • State of Illinois residency
  • Reliable transportation to travel throughout the state of Illinois
  • Willingness to attend ongoing training to obtain and retain reliability in assessment tools

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Public early childhood teaching experience
  • Three to five (3-5) years teaching or administrative experience in the field of early childhood education
  • Prior experience with early childhood evaluation tools like the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale, third edition for Pre-K classrooms
  • High level of knowledge or previous reliability on observation tools
  • Prior experience in early childhood assessment
  • Spanish speaking
