Job Summary

Conduct physical and psycho-social assessments for the homeless population while providing clinical and therapeutic treatments based on evidence to improve health outcomes. Deliver blood borne virus screening via dry blood spot testing, manage integrated care pathways for Hepatitis B, C, and HIV, and administer Hepatitis A and B vaccinations when indicated. Offer wound care assessments and basic dressings, then organize signposting to other services to ensure seamless care delivery. Act as an advocate for individuals experiencing homelessness, supporting their choices regarding care while promoting independence. Contribute to the Naloxone Strategy by training staff and individuals in naloxone use. Work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver specialist interventions to people who are rough sleeping or at risk of homelessness.

Required Qualifications

  • First level registered nurse
  • Recent relevant post qualification experience
  • Current PIN
  • Sound and demonstrable knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions
  • Ability to assess and recovery plan service users and formulate written reports, as necessary
  • Clinical auditing skills to inform evaluation of the service and identify areas for development
  • Employ a professional, empathetic, and non-judgmental attitude towards service users and all stakeholders
  • An understanding of the importance of professional integrity in relationships with service users, peers, and other relevant professionals
  • Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Weekend and evening work
  • Enhanced level DBS check
