Job Summary
Perform precision assembly on complex production and repair actuators, adjusting components through shimming to meet blueprint specifications. Utilize mechanical measuring equipment such as dial indicators and calipers to maintain dimensional accuracy, while diagnosing test failures and performing rework to correct discrepancies. Execute various test operations on hydraulic and mechanical actuators using electronic fixtures, order parts via RUR and WDS systems, and document all work performed on data sheets. Ensure units are tested in conformance with current revision letters and hold problem units for engineering disposition. This 1st shift role within Moog's Military Aircraft Group supports the design of flight control actuation systems for aircraft like the F-35 Lightning II.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English
- demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Minimum 3 years or more of Assembly experience (mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical or electronic)
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification
- Ability to read blueprints
- Assembly experience in the Aerospace industry
- Experience performing precision assembly and test of hydraulic, mechanical and electromechanical flight actuators
- Experience with precision measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers and micrometers
- Experience with diagnosing/troubleshooting mechanical components and test failures
- Basic computer program skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Possess or be able to obtain Security Clearance
- Must meet FAA's drug and alcohol testing program requirements
- Must be available for 1st shift (6:00am-2:30pm)
- Onsite work schedule in Torrance, CA
