Job Summary
Assembly Technology Engineer specializing in Material and Process at Airbus India Private Limited. Responsibilities include researching, evaluating, and selecting materials and assembly processes for aircraft components; developing and validating new assembly technologies and processes (including automation and robotics); optimizing existing assembly processes to reduce cycle time and waste; conducting material characterization, testing, and failure analysis to ensure aerospace standards compliance; collaborating with design engineers, production teams, and suppliers to integrate new materials and processes; developing process control plans, quality assurance procedures, and documentation for assembly operations; providing technical support and training to production personnel; leading continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis related to assembly issues; staying abreast of industry trends and regulatory requirements related to aerospace materials and manufacturing processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience typically 3-7 years in manufacturing engineering, process development, or materials engineering within the aerospace industry
- Strong understanding of aircraft assembly processes including joining techniques (riveting, bonding, welding)
- In-depth knowledge of aerospace materials (composites, metals) and their properties/applications
- Experience with process optimization methodologies (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma) and quality management systems (AS9100)
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and simulation tools
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment
- Knowledge of Airbus manufacturing standards and practices is a plus
