Job Summary
Perform assembly tasks for the tractor trailer industry by carrying parts, mounting tires, drilling, bolting, and using air tools while adhering to safety policies and quality standards. Review specification documentation to ensure products meet customer requirements, complete custom assembly within time limits, and communicate issues affecting production or safety to supervisors. Pull parts for all lines and mount tires as a substitute for warehouse positions, while cleaning work areas and restocking materials as needed. Shift hours are Mon-Thurs 7am-5:30pm with additional overtime available. Mechanical experience and knowledge of tractor trailer building are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read and understand basic measurements and use basic lengths of measurement
- Oral comprehension and expression skills to listen to and understand information and ideas presented verbally and then effectively communicate the information and ideas verbally
- Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
- Ability to comprehend and interpret detailed drawings and measurements
- Ability to communicate, abide by, verify, and logically respond to safety policies, procedures, and concerns
- Ability to work any shift based on production need
- Ability to work assigned shift and/or extended shift hours
- Ability to work alone or with a team
- Ability to use close vision
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
- Ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
- Ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position
- Ability to physically inspect own work and perform work in various positions and heights
- Ability to push, pull, and lift various materials including aluminum, steel, and parts
- Ability to successfully maneuver, lift, bend, kneel, and stoop
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
