Job Summary
Operate a variety of machine tool equipment including drill presses, lathes, milling machines, CNC, and hand/power machines to fabricate machined components from blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings. Perform shop calculations using handbook formulas to layout patterns and determine tooling feeds and speeds. Conduct inspections on parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers. Program some machines as needed and work independently or with a Lead to complete jobs on schedule and accurately. This journeyman-level position supports Jabil's global manufacturing solutions by delivering scalable and customized engineering and supply chain services while adhering to sustainable processes.
Required Qualifications
- journeyman level machinist
- operate a good variety of machine tool equipment such as a drill press, lathe, milling machine, CNC, and other hand and power machines
- Works from blueprints, sketches, production diagrams, engineering drawings and verbal instructions to fabricate a variety of machined components
- Makes certain shop calculations using handbook formulas to layout patterns and determine tooling feeds and speeds
- Does some inspection on parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers
- May program some machines
- Works independently or with Lead to complete jobs on schedule and accurate
