Assembly Technician (In-Store)

Job Summary
In-Store Merchandise Assemblers perform hands-on assembly of diverse retail displays (wheelbarrows, grills, toolboxes, fitness equipment, gazebos, patio furniture, etc.) across multiple stores in Stafford, VA and surrounding NoVA. Responsibilities include following detailed assembly instructions, ensuring product quality, communicating with store management, maintaining a clean and hazard-free work area, reporting missing/defective parts, and updating job status via a smartphone app. The role requires reading assembly drawings, being self-motivated, reliable transportation within a 25-mile radius, a valid driver’s license, and access to basic hand-tools. Training is provided; compensation is piece-rate/per item with flexible schedules, including full-time, part-time, and on-call positions; 1099 independent contractor status noted upon hire.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Read and execute assembly instructions, drawings, and manuals
- Must be self-motivated, energetic and a good communicator
- Quick learner, finds motivation in speed production challenges
- Must have own tools (impact driver w/bits, sockets, metric wrench, screwdrivers, box cutter)
- Good communication skills; be professional & respectful
- Must stand & bend for long periods of time, with the ability to lift 65 pounds regularly
- Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have reliable transportation to drive at least a 25-mile radius
- Must have a working mobile phone.
