Assembly Technician

Job Summary

Prepare work by studying work orders, bills of materials, and blueprints, then position and secure components per print locations using hand and power tools. Verify specifications through measurement, document actions on production and quality forms, and maintain a clean, safe work area while wearing required personal protective equipment. This role requires frequent sitting, standing, and lifting up to 75 lbs, with the ability to operate simple to complex machinery and interpret technical drawings. Summit Truck Bodies, LLC, a manufacturer of custom service and lube truck bodies, is expanding its workforce due to increasing sales.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and work orders
  • Must be able to proficiently read a tape measure
  • Ability to successfully pass a General Abilities Assessment and Post-offer background check, physical and drug screening
  • Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time
  • Manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 75 lbs
  • Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery
  • Normal range of hearing and vision
  • Able to lift 50 lbs regularly
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Detail oriented

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with basic hydraulic and electrical systems is preferred
  • Previous experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Hands-on experience working with tools, equipment, or machinery and the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues is desired
