Job Summary
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and bills of materials to accurately assemble hospital beds and accessories using hand-held and power tools. Maintain inventory in workstations, perform quality checks, and document or rework defects per engineering specifications. Apply adhesives and sealants per customer specs, conduct load tests, and keep the area clean and safe while following established safety procedures. Work flexible shifts of 8–12 hours Monday through Friday with occasional weekend availability in a loud environment. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of assembly experience
- High mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, production drawings, schematics and blow-up diagrams
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, which could exceed 8 hours in a day
- Frequent moderate physical effort
- Use hands and fingers to control, handle and feel objects
- Lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds when necessary
- Ability to see details of an object from a distance and close-up
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to interpret and manipulate simple computer software programs
- Ability to read and input programs into machinery
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit number and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using unity of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to take and understand measurements in millimeters
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
