Assembly Technician

Assemble electro-optical and electronic assemblies in accordance with work instructions, routers and engineering drawings; perform precise handling, alignment and integration of optical components (lenses, mirrors, filters, detector arrays); solder and terminate electronic assemblies; operate benchtop tools, jigs and fixtures used in optical/electronic assembly; conduct in-process and final inspection of assemblies using optical inspection equipment, multimeters and test fixtures; perform functional testing of electro-optical systems and record results; identify and escalate non-conformances through the QMS; maintain ISO9001 quality discipline and build traceability travellers and documentation; contribute to continuous improvement through root cause analysis and process enhancements; support internal audits and process reviews; work in a Defence-aligned manufacturing environment with emphasis on accuracy, traceability and compliance; collaborate with Engineering and Quality to meet design specifications and regulatory standards; thrive in a structured, process-driven setting and apply experience reading engineering drawings and using inspection/test equipment to deliver high-reliability products for Defence customers.
