Job Summary
Lead the 2nd shift assembly team for wheel loaders and motor graders, overseeing test, assembly, and monitoring of activities per work orders. Coordinate daily operations, manage inventory and manpower issues, and communicate build schedule adjustments to the Section Manager. Train new employees, develop existing staff, and serve as the first point of contact for job function questions. Enforce 5S, continuous improvement, and waste elimination principles while maintaining a clean work area and meeting quality metrics. Utilize tools to move components over 35 lbs and perform related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in machine assembly
- Experience working with lean manufacturing principles such as following standard work, continuous improvement, eliminating waste, 5S and BIQ
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to perform repetitive operations
- Ability to live up to 35 lbs
- Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Previous Leadership experience
- Advance problem solving/troubleshooting ability and root cause corrective action
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to read/write and interpret documents and follow standard work instructions
- Ability to retain and transfer knowledge to others
- Ability to operate/drive heavy machinery
- Must meet deadlines
- Ability to prioritize work
- Must have an 'Expected' or greater level of performance
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs
- Must be available for 2nd shift (Monday – Friday, 3 pm – 11 pm)
- Must pass background screening
- Must pass drug screening
- Must pass post-offer medical questionnaire (clearance from Corporate Medical)
- Must not require employer sponsorship (H, L, TN, F, J, E, O)
