Job Summary
Co-op Assembly Support role focusing on maintenance, troubleshooting, and process improvement in manufacturing. Responsibilities include assisting maintenance in plant or grounds, ensuring quality specifications are met by monitoring assembly processes on the equipment, troubleshooting all aspects of the assembly process, maintaining up-to-date equipment documentation in MVP, actively participating in the Preventative Maintenance Program (PMP) and downtime reduction, contributing to development and implementation of new technologies to improve productivity and/or quality, making recommendations to improve equipment efficiency and reduce costs, performing manufacturing, repairs and installations of parts, components, services and equipment, maintaining safe working conditions, participating in safety and operation procedure preparation, and providing support to Welding Support, Facilities, and Press/Toolroom as required.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary co-op program in a related field
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems and tools is an asset
- Experience with mechanical systems is an asset
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems
- Basic knowledge of welding process (GMAW)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good problem solving techniques
